3RD ECOTREK
organized by :
Team Bundol Mountaineers
The Invitation was posted attractivley. I am ordained to come. All commitments were served and the date was saved as close shop for brides. I dont keep calendar, but I have my weekly planner.
My bag and camping stuff was in anytime ready to jump off 3 days before the event. So excited.
Tracing a friend who is usually on line around 4 am, a status from Johanne Balaso states "jumping off ecotrek early"
I was wondering why so early? It is still a day ahead. But when I checked the date on the calendar behind our door, I was dumbfound.
Ecotrek will assembly at 6:00 am and jumping off at 8 am Today, November 29. I am 4 hours away the assembly area. I took my morning coffee, take a bath and get myself ready. My youngest son Mhalik and my hubby , lead me to the national road.
I was at Lagao, General Santos City 9am while the group was ahead Alabel, Sarangani. I assured my contact that I will be heading alone. I was not thingking that a river will be crossed before reaching the community .
I am the 98th participant.
I almost missed the event but I am still one of the destined eyes to see its endangered beauty.
The so called Red Peak is too soon to vanish with the death of its cascading water IF AND ONLY IF " coal mining" will be placed in order.

Palibgon Falls
Pangaoan, Magpet, Cotabato
An Extreme Experience
We trekked Pangao-an River for four hours to reach Palibgon falls, a pristine waterfalls. To present, there is no other known trail except for the river that will lead you to its pool.
I beg for courage to surpass the river trail .Every hour is survival. Stepping on the smallest stone to its biggest form. Rocks were virgin from human's touch. Waterfalls are facing each other from different mountain ranges serving one river to collect its water to flow. Like a road with blind curves, so as the river trail. Clingstones of flora along the trail might get you mistaken that you are in a cave. Its a rock wall nearly touching each others surface.
We passed by six thin waterfalls, viewed by young adventurers from different hometowns. What have been witnessed from this hidden nature will be forever in their memories. Being no more years to count for more adventures, this quest for where water falls is so far the most extreme experience I had.
