Nagkalitkalit Falls, El Nido Palawan
.... river crossing

My tour agent handed me a pair of wet shoes before my ride arrived which i wonder if it is really necessary."Yes mam, you will be wet before reaching the falls." I accepted her offer for no additional charge. I insisted I should take a single motorcyle ride than a tricycle.

The  second day of my Palawan waterfalling adventure,
at Nagkalitkalit Falls,
El Nido.

I saw a  very attractive wooly bear that  reminds everyone "always watch your steps".
A treck in the middle of a forest best describe the adventure.
After crossing the river nine times, there, falls the water I have been tracing.
Another achievement.
A life giving place.
Spare this forest is what we can hoped for,
 illegal loggers also exist.

Taal Falls,South Cotabato

Taal Falls, Tampakan, South Cotabato
An Adventure with Trail Markers

Kenneth, JP, Happy & Vangie. Mt. Matutum mountaineers from Tupi who gladly took their time to share their assessed trail to reach Taal Falls, still a hidden adventure treck.
The hill marks the  jump off point .

and after an hour of fun hike, about 200 ft tall ( a quick estimate) falling water
caught our sight. A rare worth seeing place.

Hearing the fall drops is so inviting,
... and who can beat the feeling?

 ...all were gone dipping ...

... till we can't bear the tingling feeling

Sabang Falls, Puerto Princesa City

Sabang Falls, Puerto Princesa City
A Fall facing the Sea

Sweat it out!
It's only a 30 minute rock hiking along the seashore  of Sabang.
Hundreds of tourist flock  at Sabang port waiting for their underground river tour but only few take turn to see this hidden nature.
What is so unusual with this falls ? The only falls facing the sea.

Experience the hike and you will gain spritual  upliftment.
Here you will be reminded of Buddah's teachings...how to attain inner peace and happiness.

Mainit Falls, South Palawan

Mainit Falls Brookes Point, Palawan

No, it's not hot. It is the name of the place, Barangay Maiinit.
I considered this trip an adventure. Majority of Palawan  tourists are north bound while this trip was going south knowing nobody except a travel review from Lakas ng Trip. As we travelled along from Puerto Princessa City to Brookes Point, we have no idea how far the place is. The country side were plainly agricultural. Road is under construction.  It is not a popular destination. The road trip was an adventure itself. After a nearly 4 hours travel, it will make you proud standing at "the home of the biggest pearl in the world".

The Local goverment is serious in their development plan making it as  a tourist destination. By the time the provincial road concreting project is done, hopefully this spot will become a popular Palawan attraction too.

AsikAsik, North Cotabato

 Asik-Asik Falls
 Dado, Alamada, North Cotabato

A national sensation, popular to locals, a waterfall phenomena.

In 2010 no record of its existence was recorded. All they can remember was  the last  strongest  typhoon and big flood that hit their place. And who discovered its grandeur? To name the person I cannot identify, one thing I'm sure he/she is a nature lover and adventurous.

The national media coverage of this new wonder destination made it popularly known to locals. As a policy, you register at their Barangay Guest Book and pay an environmental fee of PhP50.00 if you are not a resident of Alamada. In less than a year, there was no more mountain trail to follow instead a concrete pavement stair to reach the sensationalized Asik-Asik falls.

Asik-asik adventure is a test of breathing exercise. Asked the locals if  they plan to come back, some answered "even you'll pay me a million, dare me no more." It is just 500 steps down.

Asik-Asik is a case of a waterfall phenomena. It has no geographical record before it was known as locals attested that even its discovery was  surprisingly amazing. It is interesting, a speculative subject, and observed to be mysterious. "When more people come the more water crashing out from its green curtains"

My battle cry for this trully wonder of nature destination for locals...,let us keep Asik-Asik clean, don't leave your basura (candy/junkfood wrapper, shampoo sachet, alchohol bottles, etc.) anywhere but in your pockets.

Dunsulan Falls, Bataan

Dunsulan Falls, Mt. Samat, Pilar, Bataan
"Bawal Maligo, Delikado"

Wading is always exciting in low falls. But at Dunsulan Falls, it is dangerous!
Why????? According to its caretaker the local government prohibited wading because the plunge pool is 40ft deep with a cone shape hard rock formation.

Swimming is allowed but avoid the plunge pool.

( I was here in a road trip last November 20,2012. Thanks to my Batch '86 friend Charlo CaƱete and Bataan Tour Guide Kuya Joseph)

Hidak Falls, South Cotabato

Hidak Falls, T'boli, South Cotabato
an unfeatured tourist destination  for adventurista

The 18th Mindanao Forum , an annual gathering of Mindanao mountaineers  trekked  the crater lake of Mt. Parker, Lake Holon . As the participants parted,
some stayed to  conquer the mountain peak
while i take my chance to wonder more...
...waterfalling.
I invited some to come with me but they thought i was just kidding .
To no avail, i went alone.
At the public terminal, I asked habal-habal drivers how can i reach Sitio Blangas, Brgy. Kematu and who is willing to drive me there. And finally Me Diwatan a resident of Sitio Blangas volunteered to guide me. With a good heart, he only charged me PhP200.

The road is quite tough, a rocky one.
Mine tunnels are  apparent as  i marvelled the right side of the mountain views.
Kilometers ahead,  forest at its nature state stand.
A huge rock marks  the end of the road that awaits nature lovers.
Jumping  off and start trekking the green trails,

I crossed this small cascaded fall,
Heading up , saw this untrekked two tiered falls from a distance.
And another twin cascade still unfolded .
...with crystal flowing water,

I saw this majestic falls
still unfeatured
If I may choose who is the next conqueror of this hidden paradise,
I  will invite bird curators to come.
