Tinuy-an Falls, Surigao del Sur

Tinuy-an Falls, Bislig, Surigao del Sur
This one was not a solo trip... a group get together after the  big day (Aravena-Aninipot Wedding)!

Jump off point, Kidapawan City @ 4am, arrived Tinuy-an 2pm, August 8, 2010.
It was good to have our kitchen bearers around. The road trip was equated with a sandwhich heavier than lunch.

Everybody were excited  and amazed by its hidden beauty.
After unloading their baggages, all were out of site, busy with their pictorials.

happy faces

I was with my wedding team heroes... florists, tour guide, lady photograper, reception coordinator, and make-up artist.

No tour guide, just road signs. We rented a van with a qulified handsome driver. Cost of van rental was PhP10,000 including fuel charge.

To date, more and more local tourists keep coming back.
Let us keep our creed...," kill nothing but time, take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints."

Let us keep Tinuy-an Falls clean,
Please don't leave your Garbage around.

Sagada Falls, Mt. Province

Bomod-ok Falls and Bokong Falls

The Big and Small Falls in Sagada

Where in the Philippines is Sagada?
It is six more hours trip up the Mt. Province from Baguio City.

I arrived NAIA 10PM ,  took the 12AM ride for Baguio City and travelled six hours. At 7AM the bus for Sagada left. Passing Benguet Province filled my eyes with whaaws and whooohs...a terraces of vegetables, and the zigzag road going up Mt. Province. I did not mind taking pictures. My eyes were set vividly on its landscape that my imagination will never forget.

Upon arrival at Sagada, I headed at the SAGGAS office for registration and look for my contact tour guide, Kuya Sotero Ngoloban , the known tour guide of  solo female travelers of Sagada. Unfortunatelay he was with another female tourist who arrived one day earlier than me Frances Najarro of Iloilo City.

After breakfast( as early as 7am) the follwing day, i rode a jeep bound for Aguid and dropped at Sitio Banggaan, where all hikers for Bomod-ok falls must register at the Tourist Information Center. Tour guide fee is PhP500.00.

The hike from Bangaan is going down passing a village of residents working in a small scale mining operation. On my way back, we trekked going up Aguid. I happened to meet along foreigners(white asian looking) all I thought were hikers too but instead,  buyers of  sacked mineral deposits according to my guide.

At 11am we are headed back  Sagada for lunch. The treck was not difficult at all since pavement along the rice puddies were concreted.

Bomod-ok Falls , (the big Falls)
The afternoon was spent on spelunking with Francess and Kuya  Sotero. Having more time to spend, we catched the remaining day light at Lake Danum.

On my second day affter our hike from Malboro Mountain, we trekked more of the Pine forests going down Bokong Falls, The water is clear and clean not like the ones described brownish after a heavy rain.

Bokong Falls ( the small falls)
We had our lunch on its picnic grounds and talked about Sagada culture . (..weddings, baptism and other rituals).

Kaibigan Falls, Ilocos Norte

Kaibigan Falls, Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte

"Have you been to Pagudpud? It is a dream place with white sand beach .."
My question was.." any  water falls in Pagudpud?, then   it will be really a dream place for me"

I arrived  Ninoy Aquino  Intl. Airport  8PM from Davao City and decided  to catch the 9PM trip to Vigan, Ilocos Sur (all the while i was thinking that Manila -Vigan is a 10 hrs trip). When the bus arrived Vigan,  i was wondering how  fast the 10 hrs trip was.  It was just  a six hrs trip, so I decided to proceed to Laoag City, IlocosNorte which is two hours more to go. The bus arrived around 5 o'clck in the morning. I asked a  trycicle driver  to tour me around the city where I can take pictures of the city's landmarks. ( i paid him PhP100.00) . I asked him to drop me at the nearest termnal where  I can proceed to Pagudpud. At the van terminal going to Claveria (the last municipality in Ilocaos Norte) the dispatcher instructed the driver that I  be dropped at Brgy. Balaoi.

It was another 2 hrs road trip from Laoag City to Brgy. Balaoi, Pagudpud.  At jump off point, you will be required to register and pay PhP20.00 as environmental fee. Tour guide fee is PhP100.00.

I was the fourth guest to register that  morning. I finished my  Pagudpud waterfalling treck with no heck.  I appreciate the informative  signage about the standing tree specie along the trails. I saw 8  species of butterflies with different  sizes and colors. At 9am, i was back at the jump off point. My tour guide  is  Melda Pedro.  She wishes me luck to come and visit Pagudpud again,

with all hopes,.. I will.
